Back windshield defroster

Hi Guys,

I see a spot on the back window of my car where the defroster lines are which seems hot on touch. Anyone know what this is? Should I take it to service?

IMHO yes, that's a defect that needs a fix.

How often and how long is the rear defroster running?

Do you have aftermarket tint? If so, how long between installation and use of rear defroster?

I don’t have a tint and only run it when I need it. Requested a SC appointment. Let’s see what they say.

It looks like there was a quality issue on these rear window defrosters. Several have been reported with overheated defroster lines. Its possible that the wire is not properly bonded to the glass in some cases.

Yeah looks like it. SC is telling me they always have a replacement on order for my upcoming appointment.
