I think he was joking around. It was a drip of water that ran onto the seal at the bottom back of the trunk just as he raised the hatch. He said "dang Tesla" or something like that so I assumed he was kidding around.

All jokes aside. I've found that recording a short video of noise or problem and sharing that link with my Tesla Service Advisor helps them a lot.

You can make the YouTube video private and just send them the URL via the Tesla app.
