Blind Spot Collision Warning Chime on - NO CHIME EVER

I have the Blind Spot Collision Warning Chime turned on.
I have NEVER heard it chime, despite seeing a car next to me in red on the dash and almost hitting it.
Is this a known defect? Anyone else experiencing or dealt with Tesla service regarding?

The chime comes on only when you are actually about to run into another car. It’s not a preemptive warning like in most other cars, more of a collision alert. I’ve had it go off a couple of times when the car thought I was cutting it close merging.

that is a bummer, would prefer an earlier warning like most modern cars, since by your description it will take a near collision to chime
