Model X Plaid brakes question

We can confirm the front rotor is 15mm larger than S Plaid and ~2 lbs heavier, but the caliper and pad remain the same as Plaid S so is the rear brake.

Model X is 474 lbs heavier than S, with passengers (6) fully loaded the X would be ~850 lbs heavier, so a brake enhancement that can handle the potentially required braking capacity such as Jeep Trackhawk is the way to go.

Considering the weight and HP of the X Plaid, we have decided to offer a larger and thicker rotor instead of a straight "stock replacement", it will be a 400x33mm (vs. 395x32) - Comparable to Trackhawk and shall bring X Plaid to a proper braking capacity especially which is a necessity for those who drive aggressively and when the vehicle is fully loaded.

Along with the big rotor kit will have a larger (deeper) pad option to further enhance the overall braking performance and capacity.

The rotor is estimated to be around 25 lbs vs. OE's 30 lbs (Save 5 lbs per rotor)

We expect to test fit the set up in about 2 weeks and shipping will follow. Current price includes incentive discount for pre-orders which will also get order shipped in about 4-6 weeks.

Why Carbon Ceramic Brake?

Reference Information.

Benefit statement published by Tesla:

Available by mid-2022: The Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit+

Designed for the ultimate track experience, the Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit is a complete hardware package that delivers maximum, repeatable stopping power during high-performance driving.
Our rotors feature continuous-fiber technology and are constructed in a unique 3D matrix to add strength and manage heat more effectively. For additional durability, a ceramic friction layer covers the entire rotor surface to reduce brake dust, corrosion and wear, while also improving pedal feel for daily driving.
The kit includes all-new carbon-silicon carbide rotors, one-piece forged calipers with high-performance pads and high-temperature brake fluid.

+Based on S Plaid, although we are not certain if the same kit will also be available for X Plaid.

Since CCB brake kit is a major purchase so we recommend doing more researches and talk to people already own the kit for the benefits before making your purchase decision. Although we can say that many CCB brake kits have been shipped to S Plaid owners plus standard S and M3 models, and so far all of them are satisfied with their decision.

RB offers more options & flexibility for you to choose from; Including OE calipers kit which the OE calipers are retained - Not only it can save you upgrade costs substantially but provides the flexibility to swap back/forth to stock iron rotors (as a back up or spare kit)

Update:

From last week's very first BBK installation on Peter's X Plaid, we noticed that Tesla has changed the front dust shields on those recently (~4-6 weeks ago) delivered X Plaid - in Silver color below:

Vs. Original "black" heavy gage dust shield with a hump & lip on the edge which is a very strange design and requires more work in modification for installing a BBK as indicated on the above post.

The main difference as you can see, is the new (silver) dust shield (=The majority of other car makes and models) can accommodate a larger rotor w/o having to trim the edge, and since it's a thin sheet metal so it's relatively easy to cut and bend as required.

Although we can't confirm if the same change is also applied to S Plaid but it's certainly a welcome change and a good news for X Plaid owners who are considering a brake upgrade.
