The other day I was going through a drive thru fast food and as I was a the order station, a guy pulled in behind me with a souped up car that sounded like a nitro dragster. He kept revving the engine and making lots of noise. Made it difficult to talk to the kid taking orders.
After I pulled away from the speaker I rolled my window back up and was amazed how much it cut down the noise from that car. He continued revving his engine after he ordered but it was almost silent in my car. I could barely hear his thundering machine.
I was really surprised that the cabin cut down that much noise.
And that verified for me that most of the noise I hear while driving is coming from the tires. Too bad we have to have tires.
