CCS1 retrofit required for 2024 M3LR?

I’m preparing for delivery of a new 3 and would like CCS charge capability. Wondering if retrofit needed for that vehicle. I spoke to service advisor who said no way of knowing until we check the actual vehicle.

New Model 3s should not require any retrofit kit. You can check to see if CCS charging is enabled by going into the Car menu (lower left icon on the car's screen), hitting Software and then Additional Information.

If you go to pick up a new Model 3 and the screen says "CCS Not Supported", I would ask for a "Due Bill" before taking delivery. That means that they have to provide it at no charge, even if they do it later.

Originally, CCS compatibility was not an advertised feature. Now, it is well known that there will be NACS/J3400 charging stations that require CCS compatibility, so there is no excuse delivering a car today without it.

It worth noting that the car doesn't need a retrofit, but if you want to use CCS stations, you will have to buy the adapter.
