Charge Current

Hello folks - this is my first post and probably one that has been discussed before. I’m just curious because I just noticed that the factory setting for my charge current was at 5 A. I have the Tesla Home Charger and it seems to charge fairly fast (120 miles in 2 hours). Since my max charge current states 48 A, shouldn’t the low factory setting slow my charge time and should I boost it up to the max?
Thanks

The number usually just says 5A before you plug it in. It should go up to the max for either the vehicle, or the wall connector when you plug it in. If you change it after you plug it in, it should remember it. It’s fine to just set it to 48 and leave it there, but it should remember whatever you set it to, so just plug in and walk away.
