Chargepoint question

Good Morning/Afternoon!

I'm hoping someone can help me understand why my Tesla Model S 2016 (manufactured around Oct) receives 16 miles of charge every hour from a Chargepoint Level 2, J1772, 6.6 kW charger.

I've noticed my friends newer Model 3 (manufactured late 2018) receives 23 miles of charge every hour from the same charger. While its only a 7 mile difference per hr, in the same 4hr charging session he will receive 28 additional miles of charge.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional details, and thank you in advance!

Regards,
Brad

Hey Brad,
The Model 3 is more efficient. Driving efficiency, not charging. So both cars are charging at the same rate (KWh), but each KWh will push the Model 3 a lot further than the Model S. This has to do with not only weight and aerodynamics, but the Model 3 has a more efficient motor.
