Check under the rear door frame rubber flaps! Rust found

Just found surface rust under both rubber triangular flaps near where the rear small window meets the car frame. Late 2019 car. Not impressed. The rubber flap seems to be a point where water can sit underneath…..I thought it would be an isolated matter then found the same on the other side of the car!

I’d report this to Tesla and get them to sort under warranty. This shouldn’t happen.

Mine is late 2019. Just checked and it looks ok. Seems to be dry and it’s raining

I wonder if grit has got under there and slowly rubbed away some paintwork. That then allowed water in.

These are the kinda things that make me nervous about the car longer term. It's where Tesla lack long term data/experience of abnormal wear.

Gulp! I can't make that out from the photo, but is that feeling not some bubbling under the paintwork then?

Either way a bodywork warranty issue surely.

I'll be checking that and taking my frunk out again after the winter weather has finished. I found some rust there last year and treated it with curust or something like it which changes the rust back to metal.
