Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
It was easy job to do really ,part ordered from tesla dealer about $100.00 ,using 4 locking pliers we have pinched 4 hoses to prevent coolant leak.Tesla power off mode .plug connector on new part was 90 deg rotated but no issues old plug will fit. Big problem was that tesla not selling coolant over counter. We had to do research on it what coolant is it.
If you didn't find the coolant, it is G48 used by many German vehicles. I noticed in my search, that the 50/50 premixed G48 coolant is green in color. Not that it makes a difference to the actual chemistry of the coolant but I didn't want to put green coolant in my car and risk issues so I purchased the 100% full strength G48 coolant on Amazon and along with that a couple of gallons of deionized water. ZEREX is the brand I found most readily available. It is used in most electric/hybrid/PHEV vehicles.
Well our research was coolant used was in our tesla glycol G48 ,bmw mercedes and some other euro cars were using.Hoever we didnt find same so we have used G11 concentrated and mix with destilwater 50/50.after refilling was done than we went into service mode ,thermal and purge air.
About 20 25 min. Running and it was big burbling like Barth Simpson lol.So all air was out and we were good to go.
Now concern was that coolants are not smart to mix but in our case glycol coolant blue was mixing well and we didnt turn the rest of coolant in jello.
Leak was stoped and tesla running ok.
Only after we found msg into service mode regarding cabin climate control as you can see on the picture. So we dont know why that one showed up.if anybody knows let us know.
Anyway bottom line it was very easy job to do quad valve on model s.After that we add extension for A/C drain tube that doesent go and leak on battery we added new hose drill hole into plastic cover and diverting condensation water to leak out not touching battety housing.See pictures. It was nice job to do as well.
The only place I could find the G48 coolant was on Amazon. It showed up in a couple of days. I could not find the coolant locally at any of my parts stores.
yesterday our driver door handle over present and we could not open door .
handle wasnt retracting after locking all doors.
that was very strange .we were able to open driver door from inside but no from outside.
small led was on driver side handle driver
after that we had notification about new firmware to download over wifi.
we did it and after hard reset or cycle power that during installation tesla did our handle was retracted and it was working fine since software update
i watched youtube channel and some videos shoving to pull out fuse 5 amps from fuse holder and put it back and handle will reset by itself.
what is going on here i am very confused .
why door handle overpresent and lock itself????¿??
i like tesla s and isnt boring to go over software bugs lol.but it was a bit stressfull.
