Correct size inverter for 9.2kw system

I am at install day for my 9.2KW solar set up, and all of my paperwork up until today had a 10KW inverter. Now I am told that an 8kw inverter is what I need. What do you experts in the audience think?? Thanks in advance!!

I would have no issue with a 8kw inverter unless you planned to add on later yourself.

9.2 kW in panels with an 8 kW inverter is a consevative DC to AC ratio. My panel are 5.7 with a 3.8 inverter. My ratio is 1.50 to 1 compared to your ratio of 1.15 to 1. I do see some clipping but overall my system is performing optimally throughout the year.
