why NV?

The only free transport states from Washington are Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada. Since I’m in LA, the closest location is Las Vegas, Nevada.

Heard they aren’t doing that anymore because the state of CA got pissed that some people who were actually residents were skirting the tax.

Seems like with everything else, YMMV

I’m new to the group so I haven’t read up on that. I don’t understand why this would be an issue though because I’m a California resident and have to pay the full tax anyway.

Because some California residents were gaming the system and registering the vehicles in NV even though they lived in CA to avoid the tax.

So I guess as long as a California resident lists their California addresss for registration, there shouldn’t be any issues because CA tax is getting collected by Tesla.

That should be correct but try and get them to deliver a vehicle from CA to NV and see what happens.

California is now its own “region”. At minimum you can expect a $2500 transport fee. That is if they will do it at all.

has anyone used a shipping carrier as a part of the new cpo process? Ready Logistics was one of the companies the OA recommended, anyone else have any suggestions?

I just inquired about one on the other side of the country, the Tesla contact just said I would need to go pick it up.

Unless in CA. If you pick up in CA, you pay both CA and home state tax.
