Creaking sound from drivers side door hinge

I have a 12/2016 build MS with a creaking/cracking-sound as I open and close the front door which I traced to the upper hinge on the door. On previous cars I owned, correcting this noise was just a matter of greasing the 'spring' and the part it rubbed against on the hinge but I don't see that on either of the two hinges used on the MS.

Is there something 'internal' on the top hinge that gives the door the 'hold at this open position' feature and if so, if there a way to lubricate it, or is it a sealed hinge and I need to replace it?

I did try to both spray something similar on the 'joint' of the top hinge as well as used grease. Still not helping...

There is none on my car, which, by the way, I have sold. I did have the upper hinge replaced and that fixed it however...
