Dash cam sentry mode

Quick question hopefully. I have a ssd connected and I believe the car recognizes the drive as the little icon comes up and a red dot is showing in the corner of it. What I don’t understand is that if I manually click save footage, it makes what appears to be a file but I can’t see anything when I press launch viewer. It says video unavailable please select different footage. I then press the 3 bars and it shows a bunch of files but all are just browned out and none will play. I tried holding down the two steering wheel buttons to reboot but it’s the same thing. Shouldn’t I be seeing something here or do I need to remove it and see it on a computer? Could I have not formatted it correctly somehow? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I’ve had the same problem, and then a few days later it seems to work fine. I have no idea why it works sometimes and not others.
