Dashcam does not work on 2021 Model 3 [fixed by having SC re push "delivered" status]

Last poster helped me on the c pillar radio module, so solved that.
Dashcam is not working though. the ONLY time I get a dashcam icon with red dot is when it is parked and goes into sentry mode (at which point both the sentry mode with red dot and the dashcam with red dot icons appear). I am using the 128GB USB that came with the car.

When I put the car into reverse or drive, it goes from dashcam-red-dot to dashcam-no-red-dot.

I can never get a dashcam with red dot when driving and never see it in the list of files on the viewer.

I even stopped by a SC today and a tech came out, super nice, but he said he's never seen it do that. We walked inside to cars he's working on, same software version, etc. and it worked on those cars. He sent my tesla the software again to install but to no avail, still doesn't work.

I think there’s something more global going on with this (Dashcam and Sentry) in some of the newer models.

This is first I’ve posted in this, but our refresh Model S Long Range does not display icons for either Dashcam or Sentry.

I confirmed USB stick is in place and re-booted, all to no avail.

Called Service Center to ask if others with the refresh were experiencing, but they were unfamiliar with the problem and hadn’t heard from anyone else in this, thus far, they said.

I tried giving verbal command to open dash cam viewer and while that -seemed- to work (as it brought up the viewer) all videos in Dashcam or Sentry were un-viewable.

I suspect you’re / were not the only ones right now having an issue in this and think it most likely they’re gonna have to software update to fix whatever is going on.

Yeah, I'm hoping you're right. Sure seems like a software fix. I have an appointment scheduled on July 27 for them to check, but even that tech said not sure what they'd look at lol. Said he'd have to ask around to other sc shops and see if they've come across it. Would hate to be without the car several days just for them to tear apart the dash, not knowing what they're looking for. Wonder if I should wait til next update?

They said they got with them and they were going to re-push the delivered status for my account and voila. Both cabin heat protection is now accessible and dashcam is doing what its supposed to. Will test drive it out for a bit and confirm, but just sitting in garage, it's doing what it's supposed to.

This is either a software issue, or a "human error" one (with the "human error" being the tesla delivery specialist forgetting to follow some step or other, not error by the new car owner).

I hope you dont mind that I edited the thread title a bit in hopes that it might help others quickly know what the issue ended up being, so they can possibly engage tesla sooner.

I have a 2017 MSP100D and have been using the Samsung fit plus USB stick (64gb) and it seemed to stop working about a month ago. I figured the drive died so I bought another one, it worked for a week or so then became unstable and stopped working. I figured screw it, I'll get an SSD so I got the Samsung T7 SSD, just got it today and tried it and I'm STILL getting the grey x on the dashcam icon. I've formatted the SSD and the usb sticks on my windows laptop as well as error checked them (none showed errors / repaired, all reported no repair needed) and none will show the red dot on the car, only the grey x. I've also had the car itself format all of them and done long (full, not quick) formats on the drives and still nodda.

What the heck? Is the 2020.48.37.6 software buggy? That's what my car is currently on and it got it around the same time all this went out the window.
