Purchased a used Tesla 4/26 from Tesla in MD despite being a PA resident, because Owings Mills is much closer than Philly or Pittsburgh.
The delivery agent at Tesla told me to wait a few days and I could use my PA plate (transferred from my old Tesla that I traded) as long as I had the pink PA temp registration form. A call to the PA DMV told me that wasn't true, that I can't use the PA plate until I have my permanent PA registration.
When I called Tesla today they told me they still haven't sent anything to the DMV in PA and can't give me an estimate.
They gave me the old "get them off the phone with the promise of a callback" routine. Not anticipating an actual call back today, tomorrow, or even next week, unless it's to try and sell me solar again.
A total reversal from when I got my 2014 in November 2017, and they had a permanent PA plate sent there via FedEx and it was ready on the day of delivery.
Taking my car on a road trip soon and would rather not have the floppy MD temp tag attracting unnecessary police attention.
This is crap. We live in an electronic era, and in China they can take sand, make silicon chips out of the sand, take recycled plastic and aluminum cans, and make an iPhone out of all that stuff and have it shipped to Cupertino in the amount of time it is taking to get a registration transfer done and they don't even have to ship the plate. I have it with me.
