Middle class bearing Tesla subsidy
Wow, that guy has an axe to grind.
The article was written by H. Sterling Burnett of the Heartland Institute. I’m ashamed to admit it is based here in Chicagoland. They claim to be a think tank but really are a public relations firm. For decades they were primarily funded by the tobacco industry to publicly deny the adverse health effects of their products. Now their principal support comes from the oil industry to deny climate change and publicly disperse FUD about alternative energy products including electric cars. The Koch brothers are suspected donors.
Video of a Nobel Prize winning climatologist bashing the Heartland Institute during a 2011 TED presentation:
That's all you had to say.....
Fortunately all but about two of the comments are calling him on his BS. But it makes you wonder why the Detroit News would publish such slanted rubbish.
Detroit is the home of the American auto (internal combustion engine) industry which employs many of the readers of the Detroit News. Meanwhile, advertising is the lifeblood of the media. The Detroit automakers, their dealers and the oil industry advertise in the Detroit News. Tesla pays no one for advertising.
My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that's how I likes it!
