Got my model 3 yesterday (to replace amodel S) and since I have hobbies involving hauling large prices of equipment wanted to see what I could fit in the model 3. The model S was a cargo champ and I could fit either my drum set or my largest telescope.
The model 3 can easily fit a 5 piece drum set with a 20”x16” bass drum and all hardware. The bass drum can fit in the rear seat with the seat up or down.
Next up my telescope, a 12.5” Obsession Dobsonian. Was hoping to get it through the trunk but I’m not sure it that’s possible. I was able to get it in the back seat and slide it into the trunk area but I don’t recommend it.
In short, 20” bass drum and rest of drum set in soft cases are not problem but I’ll stick with the SUV for the telescope.
