Driver's seat rocking

I was reading in another post in this forum that rocking seats are not completely uncommon in 2.x roadsters.

The one thing I haven't read is if anyone was able to repair a seat. Is that a lost cause? Does anyone know the exact cause of the rocking? I'm not completely opposed to replacing the seats, but it seems like that would be a shame because other than the excessive rocking in the driver's seat, they're in fantastic condition.

From what I've seen, removing the driver's seat doesn't seem too difficult other than the tight space you're dealing with to remove the bolts. But I also don't want to go through that trouble if the seat isn't repairable.

What's the best path forward?
