EAP before or after delivery

If I order the EAP after delivery, it reduces the price of the Model 3 enough for me to qualify for a State tex rebate of $3000. Even though it will cost $1,000 more for EAP after delivery, my overall cost will still be $2,000 less than if I included EAP in the original configuration. Has anyone experienced any difficulties with the after delivery OTA ETA upgrade or does it appear to be as straightforward as I outlined.

Just tell tesla you want to order the car w/o EAP, and pay them $5k to activate EAP on day of delivery. They should agree to that.

I was able to add post delivery through a service center. Pretty straight forward, didn't even have to go in. Just talked to someone on the phone, they invoiced me, I paid, and they sent the EAP OTA.
