It's a interesting topic. Kind of ironic isn't it that sometimes we still can't seem to get away from oil. ie using gas to charge an electric car :) Yes, yes I know you are talking about an emergency situation. It just caught my attention.

If you are talking about the "power wall", that might be next to useless since they are just 13 kWh peak. So if you have a 100KWh car, it wouldn't get much of a charge with just one power wall even if it were fully charged and not powering anything else in the home.
True enough but 13 kWh is 37 miles (at .350/mi). It would take 6.5 hours on a 2 kW portable generator to get that much. But that's enough to get me to 3 supercharger stations and thus enough to get me out of Dodge. It is expensive, of course, but then so are these cars we are tooling around in.
