Etched hard-water type marks on plastic trim

On my 6 mo old M3 I noticed there are these hard-water type of stains on the plastic trim. I've tried various cleaners but they won't come off. It feels smooth when I rub my finger over them, almost like they're below the top surface. My first thought was maybe there's a plastic film that I need to peel off of the trim but don't think so. Anyone else seen this? I hand wash all my cars myself btw.

I have that, I'll give it a try. I was also curious if others are seeing hard to remove water spots on this piece.
