FasTrak charges in SoCal

How do folks deal with FasTrak charges from when the transponder isn't read by the overhead sensors? I've tried every position possible for the transponder and at best can only get a 50% hit rate off of the front windshield.

I haven't been monitoring my account and recently noticed a number of charges going back several months. I plan on disputing them but wanted to hear others' experiences.

I just registered my license number and they never charge me.

The back left corner of the trunk works for me, on the parcel shelf.

I stuck mine at the bottom of the parcel shelf in the middle of the folding part. It's the most out of view and it reads every time! I have a April 2015 Model S.
