First Ever NACS Adapter

The official adapter is now apparently available for ordering on parts.ford.com for a nominal $1 fee. You can find it by doing a lookup based on an appropriate vehicle such as a 2022 Ford Mach-e using the parts keyword “adapter”.

Eric Roe on Xitter said his attempt to order one seemed to be accepted. Who knows if that will actually work out.

It’s been taken down, so an inadvertent posting. Getting closer though!

At least we can stop the talk about Auto-Charge and AC Charging with the new adapter. We now know the AC pins are not there from CCS so you will need a J1772 adapter to AC charge your CCS car and the precess uses CCS Plug'nCharge

I mean we kind of knew that for a while now. NACS specifies CCS protocols including ISO 15118 plug and charge. Autocharge+ is just EVGo’s own proprietary solution.

There’s no way for the adapter to distinguish and switch between AC or DC so there would have not been any way for the adapter to work for both.

But yes this eliminates any doubt for anyone that still wasn’t convinced.
