GearIT 50-Amp Extension Charging Cord

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
From the UMC manual:
Warning: Do not use an extension cord, a multi-outlet adapter, a multi-plug, a conversion plug, or a power strip to plug in the Mobile Connector.
Possible? Yes. But you would give up a line of defense since the temperature sensor in the UMC plug can only detect problems in the UMC plug, but not in the connection between the outlet and the extension cord.

A little less safe, but no less safe than a gen1 adapter that doesn’t have the temp sensor.

they did redesign for a reason, so I wouldn’t use for everyday. But if monitored it should be fine.

I’ve used one of these. It’s a bit lighter because it does not have the neutral. NOT for RV use. They have several different lengths.

The first item from Amazon says is has 10 gauge wire in it. That’s only safe for a 30 amp circuit, so 24 amp charging. If you go that route, BE SURE TO ALWAYS lower the charging to 24 amps or lower!

Having said that, the image later on in the description says it has larger conductors. If they can’t even get the item description correct (consistent), who knows what you’ll receive. Stay away from that item from GearIT!
