Hi Everyone,
I'm posting this inside the group so that it's not visible to the general public as I'm not sure how sensitive this is at this point:
So, here's the confidential down low scoops:
When I was at the SC yesterday, I was talking with the staff about the lack of Supercharger over here given the dense population of MS's. I was told that the SC is currently planning to have several Tesla High Power Wall Chargers (80 Amps) installed outside of the SC...so you could stop by anytime you were low (may be restricted to operating hours)...cool right?! oh, but it gets better...
In addition, they said that they are also in touch and negotiating with a few malls to install Tesla HPWC's in their parking lots as well. SWEEEET!
There is no guarantee the mall contracts will happen (although I was left with the impression that talks were positive). I think a good network of HPWC's around the islands would suffice (and perhaps be better) in lieu of a Supercharger in one location.
Although most of us likely can't take advantage of the full 80 amps since I believe most in Hawaii are likely choosing the single charger in the vehicle, to charge on a full 40 Amps instead of the Level 2, 30 Amp public chargers would certainly brighten my day! I certainly hope they come through on this!!!
