During the winter in Canada, the salt helps corrode the rotors fast. This will happen on any Canadian car.
Due to the regen, this can be much worse on a Tesla if you don’t properly clean them. If you keep them clean, they will have no problems. If you ignore them, your brake rotors may not last long.
Cleaning them is easy. For me, I just pop it in neutral when going down a hill, and apply the brakes a bit.
I do this two or three times a week during winter. Not needed in summer.
My brakes have 215,000km’s Canadian on them, lots of brake pad left, and the rotors look great. My Tesla is never in a garage.
