How to do you 'like' a post? Or mark a post 'helpful' or 'informative' etc?

You are a new user. You are going to have to wait a short while and make a few posts. Then it will show up. A moderator can likely give a more precise answer, but I think something such as 5 postings and a couple days.

Man oh man! New users are prohibited from almost anything! I've been trying to figure out how to like a post that was helpful. Thanks for the tip!

I know I am replying to an older post. Just to say the quote of "prohibited from almost anything" is a total exaggeration. Maybe you know by now that there is really only a couple of small things that new users can't do until making just a few simple postings.

Just another person looking for reasons why I can't do normal forum stuff like have a signature or react to a post.

Honestly, neither seems like something that would deter a spambot, so it makes no sense to me.

It might seem odd at first that new signups can't use the response icons until after making a few postings, but ponder on that thought for a couple minutes. There are a couple of good reasons. It's not really that big of a deal. Make a few replies or posts and the ability appears.

I second the sentiment, that’s why I went mostly elsewhere for info despite having registered here for about 2 years, almost as long as I’ve owned my Model Y. On with the stalking.

It's dumb if you don't understand the reason. LURKING by bad characters is one of them. What I don't understand is why folks complain about relatively insignificant features.
