Fair Trading have come back to me. They're really just quoting to me what Tesla have said to them. I don't think they understand the issues relating to unauthorised access, and in any case they have no powers to order to Tesla to do anything. Tesla claimed that they couldn't downgrade the system. When I pointed to a poster on this forum who says that they were downgraded, Tesla said that it was in any case against their policy.
I'll have to research further the options related to taking Tesla to the tribunal.
