Induction charging problem with heat?

During the summertime heat (car interior is cool from AC), when I pick up iPhone from charger (2021 Model 3 with installed charging pad) after longer trips, it shows “charging paused due to high temperature”, or something similar.

The phone never feels warm.

Phone up to date, and restarted periodically.

Thoughts?

Same issue here. I realize that there is going to be some heat with wireless charging, but having the cabin at 67 degrees and the phone stops charging...not great. Usually resort to plugging it in, but it's just clunky that way.

I also asked in an Apple forum, in case anyone wants to follow and see if a helpful answer pops up, but so far, it's only a few 'me too' replies

Yes, phones don't like to be charged when they get too hot...something about not wanting them to catch fire and be a safety issue or something.

Not much airflow where the charger is.

Same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I keep an Apple Lightening cable for long trips. Ugly but it does the job.
