Really annoyed. Managed to kerb one of my arachnid wheels during autopark. As the wheels are forged is a standard wheel repair with filler the best option or is there anything harder wearing ?
That’s not bad at all. I kept mine perfect for about 6 months, and then... I used a small file to smooth out the roughness and then the silver wheel paint from Tesla. Not perfect but pretty close.
If you just sand that out you may be happy without filler; maybe even without paint. Mask off the area to protect the unscripted area, then use 600 grit then 1000 grit and I think you will be satisfied. If you want to paint it use the playing cards trick to protect the rubber. But you can get a metalized bondo filler; filler with metal in it for strength. I did see one with kevlar recently but have not tried it.
Arachnids are not really forged, they are rotary forged or hybrid forged, just as Vossen VFS series. If nobody believes me, just ask any trusted wheel shop to have a look.
