Looks NEAT.....Im hunting MS for around 50k, yours upping my limits beyond threshold....im in for 60k with the extended warranty upto 100k miles...

Sam, thanks for the offer. Since I just put it up for sale yesterday I'd like to see if there is anyone who is ready to match my price or at least come closer. I will look into what's the price for the extended warranty with Tesla nonetheless.

Extending the warranty is $4000. And my understanding is that it can be purchased at any time while still under original warranty -- does not have to be purchased by the original owner. I don't think the orig. owner gets any price break, either.

Per Tesla, the 1st owner only can purchase the extended warranty before 50k miles through mytesla account online. Once the car is sold, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner. If sold without extended warranty then the car becomes used car (resale) from Tesla perspective and they wont offer the warranty. At least this is what I've been told by the Tesla customer specialist and the local dealer.

Maybe I have some misunderstanding, or maybe this varies by state somehow, but I just called our local Service Center to ask... I was told that the ESA can only be purchased through the Service Center and can be done anytime while the car is under it's original 4/50 warranty. The original owner also has a grace period of ~60 days once the car is out of warranty to extend.

Are we talking about the same thing?

I just met with my regional pre-owned adviser today and asked her the same question. I was given incorrect information from our local Service Center -- as PhxSam says above, only the original owner can purchase the extended warranty. Sorry for the misinformation.

Thats good news. I guess Tesla is flexible with their policies and options. They actually intend to offer Ext Warranty only to 1st owner, may be honoring your request. Same with rear facing jumper seats, it shd be added in the build but now most service centers are ready to add that to a 5 seater...weird

I have 49,500 and I am a second owner and I just purchased the extended on my '13 for 4K plus tax. Let me tell you when it comes to understanding the extended warranty over at tesla it's a complete *sugar* show.

Thanks. Was told policy has gone back and forth. I don't see why they wouldn't sell it to anyone once they have a chance to inspect the vehicle -- they're more educated on the cost analysis for the warranty than we could ever be. I don't expect they are losing money on each ext warr they sell...

Beezr, can you send me the regional CPO advisor's contact info?
