Ordered 10/10. My SA has been consistent for the last couple of weeks that deliveries will be in December. One week ago they called with an almost-match to offer. I had ordered 18" wheels and this car had the 19" performance. I said yes, since my current lease is about to expire and I was going to have to rent a car, and based on my research there are pros and cons of both sizes. They couldn't explain why one came up when supposedly there are no local deliveries until December, but whatever. It's a 2020 model, "born on" date is October 21.

I took delivery yesterday. It was a really smooth process, and the car is great.

Congrats! Did it come with software V9 or V10?

anyone think that tesla might throw in a freebie for making its customers wait all quarter for their car ..

i'm not thinking anything big .. maybe just a frunk mat .. or a wireless charger.

--- i think i know the answer to this -- but kind of just putting this out there , maybe someone here got something thrown in and can report about it,.

The SA I spoke to over the weekend said that if Tesla does roll out any year end incentives, they would be retroactive to those who've ordered but have not taken delivery. So that much was good for some peace of mind in case there are any freebies.

59 hours to see my baby, never ever waited for anything like this in life

Ordered 10/13 M3-SR+-MSM-FSD, Paid 2500
Changed the order to LR AWD on 10/21
Got the Vin 10/30 2020 - LF589207 (from source code)

Couple of hours later got a text to schedule delivery, scheduled for 11/14, 5pm

VIN or MVPA did not appear in main page until I called our local Delivery center on 11/4

The Delivery specialist sent MVPA by email immideately, sent to my credit union and got the check on 11/6

Got insurance from Safeco, $1800/ year cause of my family accident history / tickets

Paid the balance to Tesla by ACH on 11/6

VIN appeared in main page, 11/7, 5pm - as some one said I guess it is programmed to appear 7 days before delivery, not sure

Now waiting... looks like days are moving very slow...

Ordered on 10/21: LR AWD, 19" wheels, blue ext./black int. at the Century City, Los Angeles showroom
The sales assistant noted the 6-10 week wait, and since trade-in and financing offers are only good for 30 days, she suggested I hold off on those sections until at least a VIN was assigned.

On Sunday, Nov. 3rd, I attended an "owner's symposium" at the Marina Del Rey delivery center. They asserted that delivery is expected from mid- to late-December, and that since there would be a mad end-of-year rush, the symposium was set up so they could answer as many of our questions as possible in advance, and thereby hopefully keep the actual delivery moving along quickly. Echoing the sales assistant, they suggested in the room that we set up reminders in our calendars to complete the trade-in/financing sections online on Dec. 1st.

I still don't have a VIN or a delivery date. (I've checked the source code.) But twice since the symposium, I've received texts (generic, not from a specific person) asserting that if I were to complete the trade-in/financing sections now, I would get "priority vehicle matching for faster delivery." The latest text also claimed they now offer 60-day financing approval "for qualified customers," though I don't see any matching language in that section of my account.

So my question is: does anyone think I should go ahead and complete those sections now, and maybe get my car sooner; or are these just automated messages that don't actually mean anything in the real world?

Just to keep things interesting, I'm traveling in late December, right in the middle of the supposed delivery period, so a delivery date before departure would be very helpful. Otherwise I'm looking at delivery on Dec. 31, which leaves no room for anything to go wrong.

Thanks for all input.
