M3 LR 22 model (Autosteer)

I have just returned from a long journey and before I went I enable (beta) Autosteer. I read the instructions telling me that a grey steering wheel would be indicate that Autosteer is available (but not actively steering Model 3), the top corner of the touchscreen displays next to the driving gear. On the 4 hour 200 mile journey down this was not there and each time I did a double pull a ‘not available message came up. On the journey hack the grey icon was there and I did a double pull and the Autosteer enabled – all good. I indicated to change lanes and changed lanes and it disabled. I enabled it again and each time I changed lane it disabled. I continued my journey without it and an hour late the grey icon was not here and never acme back on. I called Tesla and she said ‘it might not have been in range of the satelitte’

Is this ‘normal’?

Autosteer disables on any lane changes, unless you have purchased EAP or FSD, so this is normal.
If it is not available, then either the route does not allow for it (too minor a road, or poor lane markings), or other factor at play (cameras obscured, etc)
