M3 passenger seatbelt anchor - is this normal?

See pic... I don't remember the cable sticking that far out. Did I just miss it the first year I've owned the car or did something happen? The driver's side does not look like this. Thanks.

Really depends on the seat height. Here are two pictures one with my seat all the way down and another with it all the way up.
