In a recent twitter post, greentheonly said he spotted some "waze-like" functionality in the works, but it appears to be based on camera detection rather than user input. (But I agree, it would be nice to have some of those Waze features)
Tesla is making enough money now, and has plenty in the bank, that they should have a dedicated team working to make the in car navigation system second to none. But instead it is still cobbled together from various sources.
On the plus side, a recent addition spotted in the Korean navigation was "complex intersection" pop up guidance. Maybe we'll see something like that come to North America soon.
Chances are none. For me the need for any secondary app or cop monitor can be done by user via phone app. Personally have no interest in a monitor like this.
Until Tesla builds this functionality into their own software, you can use this: Tesla Traffic Incidents and Information <-bookmark this on your Tesla's browser and it gives you some Waze functionality while you are driving. Not great, but it will give you better traffic and hazard information.
