Mobile Connector Stopped Working After 15 Months

So it looks like Tesla had a bad run of 14-50 adapters from recent reports here. Assuming that there's a readable S/N on your adapter, if you're feeling generous, give that S/N to your local Tesla Service Center and explain to them that you have proven the 14-50 NEMA adapter is defective, and there's no problem with your mobile connector. They might have better troubleshooting advice for the next person.... or they could remain lazy and continue to say that the expensive mobile connector needs to be replaced (with a different 14-50 adapter in the kit which may or may not have the same problem).

Seems a few recent cases here already on the forums. Practically every time, the SC fails to diagnose the actual problem. Seems like they just try a different Mobile Connector and treat the 14-50 adapter as if it was permanently attached. Wonder how many perfectly fine Mobile Connectors got trashed because of this.

Yes. We called the SC we went earlier this week and told them we were there the day before and the staff just told us to buy a new set but in fact it was just a defective adapter; also gave them the serial number on the unit and told them there might be a bad batch of defective adapter there and the MC is fine ....the guy said he will make a note in their system but so hopefully this helps....
