Model 3 collection - Paint issues / scratches / stone chips etc.. You have 100 miles to report.

exactly this, but Same applies to ICE, if you walk of the dealer forecourt signed the disclaimer and you have not noticed scratches and paintwork damages , good luck trying to prove they were there when you got the car as you signed a disclaimer. Same applies to leased vehicles probably more so as you don't want the leasing company billing you for scratches which were there from day 1.

Take your time and photo, video everything and Please share with the group so we all know common areas and items to look for
Took delivery of 3 model 3 performance models paint defects scratches and and stone chips all over on one of the vehicles front damage was only noticed when a detailer had it to get wrapped Tesla not interested why would anyone spend £4000 to get it professionally wrapped try to cover this up Tesla is wrong here and seriously pissed me off please do not take delivery unless you have a professional detailer or paint specialist with you at delivery do not get excited and check the whole car thoroughly if tesla continue this stupidity they will eventually have no customers and no sales don’t get me wrong the car is amazing to drive but when you are spending this amount of money on cars they should believe the customer and sort problems out Teslas customer service has turned into crap in a very short space of time I never had any of these issues with my model s everything was always dealt with professionally and quickly I was a huge Tesla fan and always singing their praise now I have been lied to about one of the vehicles they also have not fulfilled their obligation to homelink in any of the cars it clearly stated when I ordered that homelink was included in the premium upgrade fortunately I took a screenshot of this I pointed this out back in June it’s now September and still no homelink as a previous model s owner and powerwall owner I thought they would address my concerns now all they like to do is send emails and waste peoples time not a very efficient way of working

New cars are covered by The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which replaced The Sale of Goods Act 1979). That means they must be "as described", "of satisfactory quality", and "fit for the purpose".

0-30 days since purchase

If the car is unfit for purpose, faulty, or not as described, you have the right to return it and receive a full refund within 30 days of the date of purchase. Also if you ordered a car for delivery and have not received it within 30 days of the date of purchase (or by any later date agreed), you have the right to cancel your order and receive a full refund.

30 days to 6 months since purchase

If a fault is discovered within the first 6 months from delivery, it is presumed to have been there from the time of delivery. It is for the retailer (car dealer) to prove that this was not the case.

If it has been over 30 days since you purchased the car, you will likely have to allow the retailer the opportunity to try to repair it if any issues arise (replacing the car being disproportionate to the cost of most repairs).

If the retailer can't repair the car, or have tried to repair it and the fault still exists, you will be entitled to return the product and receive a refund. However a reasonable deduction may be made by the retailer to reflect your use of the vehicle in the preceding months.

Buying a New Car: Your Rights

When you collect your car, if you don’t feel you have been given enough time to fully look round the car for defects, instead of driving all the way home, just drive round the corner park up and fully check the car over. Take pictures, videos. I would then drive the car straight back to them, and make sure any issues I had are reported and also take a note of the persons name you reported it too. This is for any car, not just Tesla.

That's OK so long as it's
a) light enough
and
b) not raining
