2024 Model 3 Long Range
Hello! The massive first-world problem is the dilemma between the Ultra Red or the Deep Metallic Blue for model 3.

To summarise my situation shortly, it'll be. Blue has always been my favourite colour, and blue tesla was the one I was interested in all this time. However, I saw the ultra red on the Model 3 Highland at the Tesla dealer and was shocked by how stunning it looked. Some friends say blue, some say red. So either colour is fine for me, so I decided to just look at the pros and cons of the colours. This is where I'd like to ask you guys.

So some of the stuff that would be important would be stuff like paint fade, and quality of the paint since, if I understand correctly, they're painted differently. Other concerns will be servicing I was told the red would be difficult to match so it'll be difficult to service (I just assumed servicing my car or fixing it at Tesla would solve that but I don't know). Also, I'll be getting white seats, so I feel red and white don't mix as well as blue and white. There's also concerns on maintenance which shows scratches easily, which is easier to notice being dirty etc. So what do you guys think? What are the pros and cons of the blue and red, and which one would you pick in consideration of that?

If you can afford to full PPF it new, the weaknesses of the blue are somewhat negated. Less chips, easier to keep looking clean.

I thought I would never want a red car. Higher visibility, which draws attention of cops.
But the first time I saw the UR on an S, I thought to myself, I could drive that.
It's all about the depth. The UR is physically thicker than the blue, but thickness alone doesn't always stand out.
The UR uses a tinted clearcoat. It doesn't just look like a base coat with clearcoat.

Me and my wife just went through this very same dilemma this weekend lol... We ordered a new model 3 to pair with our X as a second car.... We narrowed the color down to blue and red.... We spent so much time debating, checking it out in person, etc.... Finally we decided that the Ultra Red was just more striking and sexy and makes more of a statement so we went Ultra Red.

But to be honest, I don't think you could go wrong with either.. the blue is hella sexy and different as well.

I was also between the red and the blue. I saw them both in person, liked the blue more and went with it.
My previous car was red and I wanted to change things up a little.

Blue and white match really well in my opinion, but so do red and white.

My old car (Mazda CX-5) had a bunch of rock chips on the hood and the pillars, so I had my Tesla PPFd -- this way I don't have to worry about rock chips as much :)

We too were deliberating b/t these two colours. I don't think you can go wrong with either. They are both less common than the monochromatic Teslas. The blue is sharp. While we decided to go with Ultra Red because YOLO, I find myself staring at a DBM M3H once a while and wondered.....

I had a blue loaner 2020 performance that made me consider it seriously as an option but imho you can’t beat the way the ultra red changes colour in different light.

It’s carrying summer dust well too.

Looks great with white seats.

I was surprised when I went to pick mine up how few ultra red perfs were waiting - maybe they’d all been picked up already 😂
