Dunno, but the one difference I saw is the motor outputs. Oh, also a slight battery size difference as well. The E model was tested more recently in May, while the non-E was tested last November.
 
I took delivery of a tax credit eligible LR M3 today. If anyone figures out a way to confirm what battery it has without having to crawl under the car let me know and I’ll give it a go.
The ONLY Model 3/Y Tesla battery currently eligible for the US federal tax credit is the Panasonic 2170 pack produced in Nevada. There is zero ambiguity nor need to crawl around on the ground. If the car is eligible for the tax credit, that’s the pack you have.
