Model 3 Reservation Holder, Delivery in SF missed: "car is damaged," minutes before pick up by Tesla

My current nightmare:

I'm a Model 3 reservation holder, from about a month after Tesla opened them. 3, Dual Motor. Delivery was scheduled for last Saturday [8th September] at 3pm Pacific. At 3:35, I get a phone call from "Grab A Bucket" caller ID [SF area code]. Guy says, he's having trouble locating the car to deliver. Then, he calls to say he's on his way a few minutes later. About an hour later, another call: "We can't deliver your car today. Tire Damage". Pressing him for more info is useless.
I write my Tesla delivery specialist. She finally gets back to me on Monday, and explains that the vehicle was damaged and couldn't be sold, so a new vehicle order has been prioritized for you, but we don't know when you'll have a new VIN"

This vehicle is a gift, BTW, to my husband who is going through his final chemo treatments. I can't tell you how much I feel I've broken his heart by putting him through this wait. I really don't think Tesla gets it.

A week later, crickets from Tesla.
 
Hopefully he gets his gift, but I think most people understand that this an extremely high demand car, and multiple people myself included has experienced delivery delays. They're working on it but with their limited staff, issues are hard to resolve.
