Model S Auto Pilot is not working

My Auto pilot has stopped working. I turn it on in park and accept the warning. When I put it in drive, the "on" button moves to off and goes dark?
Anyone else having this issue and/or a remedy?

I have AP1 I turn mine on when I am cruising on the highway at the speed I wish to retain, or the speed limit + 10, I have never tried to engage it in park

The on button is disabled while not in park.
That's normal.
While driving, use cruise control stalk to use autopilot. (Basically....RTFM)

When the car "sees" the center line and/or the shoulder line, the grey steering wheel appears on the center dash, only then can you double pull the "cruise" stalk
