Hello,

Am looking at purchasing a very good condition 2014 Model S with a 60Kw battery.

Would like to know if it is possible to retrofit a larger battery into the car? The owner says the car gets around 120-150 miles of range with it now, and I'd like to have more range if possible. Thank you!

This is also an option, if he gets another battery in stock. Probably would be cheaper (and easier) than getting Tesla to do it these days.

I got a new 85kw battery pack last week. I asked I could pay for 100kw. NO, different size than my 2012 pack. Then I asked for 90. He said Tesla would send me an 85, because they had one in stock. Week later I took car in and got new 85.
My range had gone to using extra 50 mile to go 100. New pack sure uses a lot less for my short trips. Going to test it Thanksgiving on 750 mile trip.

Rated miles? I've got to say that sounds extremely low for a 60. You may want to reconsider. It sounds like something is defective.

Do not buy this car based on the assumption that Tesla will do this for you. It’s far far far from a foregone conclusion.

It would quite likely be cheaper and far less headache for you to buy the car with the range you want already installed.
