Model y mud flaps now available from tesla

noob question but are rear flaps not necessary? i already got XPEL ppf but for some reason i still like the look of mud flaps

Yeah not sure how I feel bout the look. Might switch over to the molded ones once folks post pics of that setup but this will do for now.

Correct, rear isn’t necessary IMO.

There is a lot of dust buildup in the back. I was hoping I could get them for the rear to help.

Thanks all for the pics! Does anyone find them rubbing on speed bumps? Or are they high up enough?

I can personally verify that they do slightly scrape speed bumps and I have the 20" Induction rims.

Installed mine yesterday. Very easy to put on.

Can either of you, or someone else with these mudflaps, measure the distance from ground to bottom of the flaps. I’m curious of they extend lower than the EVmudflaps, which I measured at 3.75” on my Long Range.

I’m guessing you have a Long Range (Performance sits a little lower)? If so, the Tesla ones do extend down further.

The EVmudflaps do still have the potential to do debris damage when I set my sight line from the bottom of the rear door to the bottom of front tire. So seems that Tesla did appropriately measure how low it should go to pretty much eliminate the potential for damage.

Installed on my MY SR today and yup they are super low to the ground with the Gemini's. Scratched every speed bump so far.

Take an inch off the bottom and it will prob solve most, if not all of the issues with speed bumps?

These look great even if only for the front. They are still sold out, but once I get my hands on them I'm going to do a review of them vs the ones from EVMudflaps Canada (overpriced, but bought anyway) vs the ones from ZL1 Addons (here). Will link the review here once it's done if there's interest!

Yeah, it takes less than 3-5 min to pop em off and on for both sides. It’s just two push pins holding them in that you can pop out with a trim tool or flat head.
