I am installing a new Tesla Wall Charger. The manual says to install at 4 feet. Is that 4 feet to the bottom, middle or top of the charger?
Thanks,
Richard

This sounded a bit strange to me, that the manual would tell you to install at a specific height ( and not give a range / max) so I took a look. What I found was, it says this:
=============================================
• Maximum height (indoor and outdoor): 60 in (1.52 m) • Recommended height: ~45 in (~1.15 m) • Minimum outdoor height: 24 in (0.6 m) • Minimum indoor height: 18 in (0.45 m)
=============================================
So, somewhere between 1.5 feet and 5 feet (indoor) or 2 feet and 5 feet) outdoor. If you are installing at 4 feet, I think any of the measurements you mentioned would be ok. I Imagine that its "to the bottom" because if you were installing it at 1.5 feet to the middle or top, it would basically be on the ground.
There is no engineering reason for a set height. They are suggesting 4 feet as that is acceptable for ADA, ADA tends to go by the operable item though so I would assume you want it to the handle if that is your goal. I have mine up higher so I can just do one wrap over the top while not plugged in.
