MX Brakes

Yesterday while driving from Los Angeles to San Diego (approximately 70 miles into my drive south) I started hearing a sound like rubbing/scraping when I press my brakes. Once MX came to a complete stop and then accelerate I would hear the same noises mentioned above. I also received an alert stating A/C and cooling reduced. Has anyone experienced these symptoms before?

Sounds a little dangerous. So the obvious question is
years with current brake pads/rotors?
when was the last time you had your brakes cleaned and lubed?
when was the last time you had your brake pads replaced (and rotor)?

They could not be sliding well on the pins and thus the pads would wear into the rotors prematurely. Of course, your weather would not cause the same problems as Chicagoland except for rain and rusting causing hangups.
