Yes, the sweet spot for used Model S's is AP1 right now. The cost goes up significantly for AP2+, so that's why I also did the same as you. Still you got the nose refresh which is nice.

I just sold my LS two days ago, and I have to admit it felt weird just to be back in it to drive it to CarMax. I feel like I just sold my flip phone for an iphone.

Electrician is here right now installing my Wall Charger!
Yes, I really wanted the nose refresh and waited till the right time to get one. I'm guessing you got the older style bumper Model S?

Yes, I drove my GS on Sunday and it still feels/drives fantastic as it has very few miles on it for a 20 year old car. It will certainly feel very strange letting go of it. I had originally planned to never sell it, but I need the space for the Tesla now. :(

Of course, congrats on the Tesla, but I came here to say— sweet Lexus! Just because it's an ICE car doesn't mean we can't appreciate the love you put into it. Looks awesome, I bet it sounds nice too.
Thank you very much! Yes, I also still appreciate ICE cars very much, but I now prefer fully electric.

Yes, the GS sounds amazing - its got an X-pipe with resonator delete with Magnaflow mufflers - here's a video of the sound

I don't even the car yet, but my mats came in! :)

Congrats on getting the car of your dreams! I'm sure the wait has made it all the more sweet. We have a 2017 75D and it's a great car. My husband also waited a number of years before buying and decided it was time to treat himself to his dream car. The move to EV is amazing. You will quickly appreciate never having to pump smelly fuel at a gas station again or get an oil change, etc. But the driving is the best part. So when does delivery happen?

If you are looking for a cargo organizer for your lower trunk area, I'd highly recommend Rola's large cargo organizer (#59001). Fits great in the lower trunk area and helps organize all those things you want to keep handy (and not have rolling around). Really well made. Also works well in the cargo area to contain bags of groceries and can be collapsed flat. The bottom is rubberized. Here's a listing on ebay Canada for a seller who ships outside the U.S. ( Rola 59001 MoveT Organizer Large | eBay )

Thanks!!! Unfortunately I still have to smell gasoline occasionally as my wifes car will need to go to a gas station (will be less now as we'll use the Tesla primarily now as the main car). I don't have an ETA yet. I'm hoping this week as we've planned a trip to the Grand Canyon east coast equivalent (Letchworth State Park, NY). A distance of approximately 120 miles from me.

Still haven't received an ETA on when I will get my car. As you can imagine the suspense is killing me. :)

Chronology of events:
  1. Thursday June 20th - Placed deposit via phone using my credit card (CAD$2500).
  2. Friday June 21st - Financing approved through Tesla. I responded back to the email approval indicating my acceptance of the financing.
  3. Monday June 24th - Received email from delivery specialist asking me about any trade in. I confirmed there is no trade in. I asked them to please expedite the delivery of my car so that I can get it this week. I was told it's not likely as it has to be shipped from the storage location in Toronto (about an hour away from me) to the nearest Tesla delivery center - Oakville (15 mins from me), safety inspection performed and detailed.
  4. Tuesday June 25th - I sent an email to the delivery specialist at the end of the day asking for an update. No response. However the used car sales manager who I placed my order with responded via SMS (not email) indicating that he is working directly with the vendor to have the car delivered to the Oakville delivery center by EOD Tuesday June 25 as per my request for an expedited delivery and to now give him time to continue working on it.
  5. Wednesday June 26th - No update from delivery specialist. I respected the sales guys request and didn't call or send an email asking for an update
  6. Thursday June 27th - As of noon (Eastern Time) no update from delivery specialist. Hopefully I will get an ETA by EOD today

Congratulations and welcome to the family!

We have the Rola 5901 and it fits perfectly. I would also recommend the Max Spidr all season floor mats. The version we have looks like a short carpet. They fit very well and have, so far, kept our cream carpets clean.

  6. Thursday June 27th - Received email and a call confirmation from the delivery specialist that my car is ready for pickup on Saturday June 29th at 5:00 PM ET! Yaaay!!! I'm beyond excited as you can all imagine. :) I'll update this thread with some delivery pics at the delivery center tomorrow.

I'm really excited for you. We ordered ours from the factory and the 4 - 6 weeks seemed like a lifetime. It turned out to be 5 weeks.
Thanks! I just got confirmation from the delivery specialist that my car is ready for pick up tomorrow at 5 PM! Yay!!!!

Congratulations and welcome to the family!

Thanks! I will look into the Rola fairly soon. I've already bought mats - Tuxmat. They look fantastic from initial impressions - seem high quality and very robust.

Congrats. I got a 75d about six months ago. 26k miles and only option was sunroof. Paid 51 so you got a great deal. If your car is not uncorked yet, make sure you call the service center and get it done.
Thank you!

I picked up the car on Saturday (June 27th), went straight to a SC near my home, charged to 90% and drove home. Next day I went on a road trip to Letchworth state park in NY (for the day - its about 2.5 hours one way from my home) and then yesterday drove to Niagara Falls (its about an hour away). So drove about 450 miles in the first two days (technically 2nd and 3rd day).

I am LOVING every minute of it!!!!! The is an absolute blast to drive. Its so smooth, so powerful and its always so eager to please you lol.

Here is one pic - more to come later after some post processing.

That's a pretty good shakedown drive for a first day. Congratulations!
Thanks! I got my first lesson in range anxiety too! On the return drive home, navigation indicated 78 km to the nearest supercharger, but I had an indicated 68 km range left. As you can expect from a noob with an electric car in their first day of using it, I decided to find another charger (I found a slow destination charger) prior to the supercharger. Lesson learned, pay attention to the instructions the navigation was giving me to keep my speed below 80 kph/50 mph and I wouldn't have wasted time at the destination charger and would have been able to reach the supercharger without any problem.
