    Charging battery properly

Congratulations! Keep it simple. 1. Plug it in every night and set the charge limit to 80% and schedule it to start charging whenever your electric utility rate is cheapest. 2. Charge to 90 or 100 % (depending on how far you need to drive) when you're going to travel or drive a lot the next...

Stacking 2 road bikes in the back

Two bikes fit easily without any disassembly. I put the rear seats down and use cardboard between the bikes to prevent rubbing. Laying down flat and stacked, not standing up. I've done this so many times, I can't even count how many times I've done it. Bikes for adults, not kids. I'll find a...

6 reasons why Tesla is failing, and they all have to do with design

Is that to the first part or second part of my comment. Or are you just being sarcastic?

    Sleeping with the Enemy!!

It weighs 4670 lbs. You'd be surprised at how many ICE sedans are heavier than a Plaid which has a battery alone that weighs 1000lbs

All I can say is - nice ICE cars and the Plaid ofcourse is the icing on the cake(s)!!👍👍

6 reasons why Tesla is failing, and they all have to do with design

It's time to move on I'd say! Tesla isn't going anywhere despite the all the "shortcomings" you've outlined. Just saying. I'm also in the same camp as you - my next EV may not be a Tesla, but that won't make any difference to Tesla.

Will the free FSD trial convince you to purchase FSD?

Ofcourse most people would install it if it was free. That doesn't mean it's worth it (the $ it costs or its "ability" to drive).

Any experience with third-party warranties in Canada?

@FrugalS This does not make sense now. 'In addition it is transferable to the next owner as long as it is a private sale. What really makes it a no brainer is if at the end of the warranty period : You are still the owner Made no claims under the warranty You get your money back (less the...

My Taycan vs. My Model S

@Struja - I have a question about the drive modes in your Taycan. I really enjoyed everything about the "Sport Plus" mode other than the "harsh" ride on not so smooth pavement. Is it possible to configure the "Individual mode" to have the exact same parameters as the Sport Plus mode except the...

    2023 Porsche Taycan 4S review

My charger is the NEMA 14-50 plug which is the same charger that the Porsche has, but it wouldn't charge for some reason. I didn't even think of trying the port on the passenger side. That may have worked. I'm sure you wouldn't need to install another charger if you bought one. I was busy...

    2023 Porsche Taycan 4S review

Would love to try out your Plaid! My local Service center only has the LR available for test drives. I specifically asked for a test drive longer than the usual 30 mins and asked them to keep it overnight. They accomodated me on a Saturday at the end of the day after all the test drives were...

Any experience with third-party warranties in Canada?

I just tried to inquire about the warranty on their website and the form errors out - "Sorry, the application is experiencing technical difficulties. Please start again another time". I wonder how many potential customers are lost because their form does not always work...

    2023 Porsche Taycan 4S review

Yes, its a dealer demo from the local Porsche dealer. I got the car after the last appointment they had on a Saturday (for driving tests by potential clients) and since the dealer was closed on Sunday and Monday (stat holiday), they said I could keep it for the weekend. One thing I don't...

    2023 Porsche Taycan 4S review

After reading @Struja post regarding his Taycan, I had to test drive the Taycan and this is my review. For context, I currently own a 2016 Model S75D and I have done my best to not compare the Taycan to it as my car is almost 8 years old now and is not really a comparable car to a new Porsche...

    advice on extended warranty

This is just anecdotal and I'm not saying it will apply to you or anyone else. My car ran out of warranty 10 months ago and the battery coolant valves needed replacing a month ago. I have only 72k miles on the car. It's a 2016 75D and this is the second time the valves have been replaced...

New Owner, First Impressions, Quick Question

Does Model S come with key fobs?

Confused about model type - dealer supplying wrong information (UK)

Any clue why range was reduced on MSP but not MSLR?

Not to trivialize your very valid concern, but how is a slight reduction in range going to make any difference for your trips? We're not talking about 50 to 100 miles reduction here after all. Plus it's not recommended to go below 20% SOC anyway unless you absolutely have to. Unless ofcourse...

You prefer the "styling" of the Plaid? The "styling" is simply the spoiler, the Plaid badge and the red brake calipers on the exterior. You can change the color of the calipers and add the spoiler easily. The interior has the CF trim option and you can also change that easily with some...
