My model y hatch won’t reverse when hitting something. It this a service problem just on my car

When my hatch closes and hits an obstacle it just pauses and continues pressing down until the obstruction is cleared or I press the hatch button again. It doesn’t stop on it’s own and reverse. I tried it with my arm and it was pretty forceful.

Anyone else want to try it on their arm and tell me what you find out?

I just tried it with my shoe because I'm not as brave as you. It compressed the shoe a bit--didn't appear to be forceful--and stopped. Didn't pop back up / reverse, but did release the pressure and I could move it manually.

You posted on another thread that you have installed an aftermarket hitch. I am sure that might have something to do with it. Or you can do what I told you when you posted this on reddit. Read the manual. You know this is a malfunction, there is no point to these posts or videos. Schedule a service and move on.
