Yes, I have a j1772 extension. Works perfectly with a NACS adapter.

I think officially Tesla (and others) are opposed to any sort of extension cord, for both legal and pragmatic reasons, and for home charging I agree.

For charging on the road there are two problems: distance from wall outlet to car, and the type of the wall outlet. You need both a collection of outlet adapters and an extension cord. I worked out a kit of such things which has provided much entertainment on the road. But what usually suffices at friend's homes, rentals places, etc. is charging off an ordinary wall outlet with the mobile connector and a decent 50 foot leaf-blower type extension cord.

Just be careful about it.
